Job summary

Georgetown University’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) seeks a capable professional to support emergency management activities across Capitol Campus and other campus locations in Washington, DC. The role includes developing and implementing outreach, education programs, and EOP/COOP planning, while coordinating with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution plus a minimum of one year of experience (two years preferred) in Emergency management or related field.
• Experience in community outreach and education.
• Developing emergency plans and continuity of operations (COOP) plans.
• Designing, implementing, and evaluating preparedness-related training and exercises.
• Utilizing the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Incident Command System (ICS), Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101, and the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation program (HSEEP).
• Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, revise, and operationalize emergency plans including the University EOP and COOP.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate emergency preparedness training and exercises.
• Support after-action reviews and improvement planning.
• Assist with emergency communications and maintaining the EOC readiness.
• Staff the EOC during emergencies and planned events.
• Perform other emergency management duties as assigned.
