Job summary

Harvard University Central Administration is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead capital projects across campus, including architecture, design, and construction management. You will manage scope, budget, and schedules within a cross‑functional team to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes risk management, quality control, and strong stakeholder communication, with opportunities to influence design decisions and oversee consultants.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of architectural, engineering, construction or project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Registered Licensed Architect is a plus or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire date.
• Strong organization, graphic, and presentation skills.
• Experience with furniture procurement and high-performance sustainability standards (e.g. Living Building Challenge Core).
• Ability to gain cooperation of others and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management activities including budget, scope, and schedule for architecture/design/construction projects.
• Review design concepts, track submittals, and provide day-to-day direction to project teams.
• Manage owner-stakeholder communications and coordinate with Harvard Schools and Departments.
• Negotiate and manage contracts and change orders; ensure compliance with university policies and project requirements.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, cash flow projections, and schedules in collaboration with senior leadership.
