Job summary

MAC Incorporated in Hartford, CT is seeking a Project Engineering Manager who can lead capital projects across manufacturing operations and partner closely with operations and maintenance teams. This role requires 50% travel and hands-on plant presence.

Responsibilities include developing capital expenditure plans, scoping, budgeting, and scheduling; leading project teams, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving reliability and OEE improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Civil Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a process manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading CAPEX projects from concept to start-up and closeout.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management experience.
• Hands-on presence in the plant while leading strategic project initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple capital projects and drive improvements.
• Up to 50% travel for project work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the facility capital expenditure plan based on operational needs.
• Lead capital projects from scope development to start-up and close-out.
• Prepare budgets, schedules, and cost-benefit analyses for capital investments.
• Create equipment layouts, process designs, and facility specifications.
• Select manufacturing equipment, vendors, and contractors; manage change control.
