Job summary

Hood Container Corporation seeks a Project Engineer to drive capital improvement projects, optimize processes, and enhance equipment reliability across our corrugated manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, production, and safety teams to boost plant performance, cut costs, and enable growth.

The role focuses on identifying opportunities, developing technical solutions, and managing projects that improve productivity, quality, safety, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering.
• 2-7 years of engineering experience within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze data and develop practical solutions.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of capital projects from concept through completion.
• Prepare engineering designs, equipment specifications, budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Lead equipment upgrades and process improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, and internal teams during project implementation.
• Evaluate production processes and identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance quality.
• Support installation and startup of corrugators, converting equipment, material handling systems, and plant infrastructure.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Assist in preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Develop project documentation, technical reports, and operating procedures.
