Job summary

The City of Georgetown seeks a Capital Improvement Projects Manager to lead and implement the Facilities CIP, coordinating with architects, contractors, and city departments to ensure successful delivery of vertical construction projects.

Responsibilities include budgeting, planning, and oversight across the CIP, with collaboration across multiple teams and coordination with consultants. A governance-aware leader with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or related field and at least five years of construction project management experience.
• Governmental facilities project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vertical construction methods and contract types.
• Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, ADA, EPA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a project manager for assigned Capital Improvement Plans.
• Assist in project selection for five-year CIP and provide budget estimates.
• Coordinate engineering, training and services as team leader/supervisor.
• Oversee the City’s long-range Facilities Plan and CIP adoption.
• Lead RFQ committees and assist with consultant selection for facilities projects.
• Coordinate plan reviews and address comments with contract professionals.
• Manage bid processes, negotiate contracts, and handle change orders with Legal, Purchasing and City Council.
• Coordinate with inspectors to maintain progress across projects.
• Present contracts awards, updates, and CIP plans to boards or City Council.
