Duties & Responsibilities:
Our company’s Securities is creating a centralized Client Onboarding team consisting of a COB manager, Strategy manager, Documentation team, AML/KYC team and a Data management team. The Client Onboarding Strategy manager will liaise with members of the Onboarding team to ensure we are comfortable with all operational, compliance, regulatory and internal policies as part of the onboarding process as well as liaise with the COB Advisory Committee.
This newly created function will be responsible for developing the data quality records, controls, metrics and go-forward model of the team. The current Client Onboarding process is initiated through various teams across the organization and is managed in the U.S.
This role is meant to be strategic in influencing how the centralized team will function and perform in the future. The aim is to have a centralized team with regional representation in order to support growing business in London and Asia. This initiative is accompanied by a major effort to redesign current operational functions as well as to create a unified workflow tool to provide transparency, accountability, KPIs and metrics.
The COB Strategy manager will report to the Head of Data Operations and have 2 direct reports. The COB manager and the WFS Documentation manager will report directly to this role. This role will reside in Charlotte, NC. The COB Strategy manager will be an SME within the various lines of business we support such as Prime Services, the Futures Clearing Merchant, Derivatives, Fixed Income, Loan Servicing and Equities.
The COB Strategy manager will be responsible for delivering high standards of control and surveillance while ensuring that all internal (Risk) and external (Compliance) standards and requirements are fully met. They will validate the Client Onboarding process by comparing data entered into the client onboarding system versus documents sourced by Documentation, AML, and Credit teams. The COB Strategy manager will track progress and provide status of onboarding data quality/controls.
The COB Strategy manager must understand, follow, and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the product/business supported. They must have a strategic perspective in advancing the development of the COB tool. They must maintain all WF internal control standards, implement new controls and address any internal or external audit points raised. The COB Strategy manager should be aware of the Operational Risk scenarios associated with the role and adhere to all policies. The applicant must have a solid understanding of the regulatory implications of FATCA, Dodd Frank, OFAC, Patriot Act and Finra regulations.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
