Based in Greater Detroit Area (Remote with Travel), the Capital Equipment Sales Representative of RUF Briquetting Systems, Inc., mines a multi-state territory to sell briquetting technology for metal processing applications to new customers and to expand sales and service to existing customers throughout the Upper Midwest. The ideal candidate combines the commitment to solving customer challenges, a disciplined sales process, and the drive to achieve—and be rewarded for—high sales performance. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Outside Sales Representative works in collaboration with inside sales support and independently throughout the territory to identify and capitalize on meaningful sales opportunities, leveraging CRM technology, time-tested best practice and technical acumen to transform opportunities into satisfied customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience selling hydraulic and mechanical presses
  • Deep understanding of the CapEx sales process
  • Selling across the customer base—from CEOs to Maintenance employees
  • New Account Development (Hunting and Gathering)
  • Prospecting and cold calling
  • Penetrating new markets: missionary and pioneering work
  • In-person meetings and presentations live in the territory

Account Management:

  • Driving additional revenue from existing customers
  • Listening to and putting into action the voice of the customer
  • Ensuring timely and thorough service and support
  • Developing thorough specifications

Company Representation:

  • Serving as the company’s representative to the ownership, employees, customers, the government, and the public
  • Serving as a trusted advocate for the customer and the company in all interactions
  • Embodying, reinforcing, and advancing the mission, vision and core values of the organization

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

·5+ years of outside sales experience for capital equipment

·Multi-state territory management

·Demonstrated account management experience resulting in incremental account growth

Physical Requirements:

  • 25%-40% car travel throughout sales territory to develop and service customer base
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises
  • Ability to work in the elements both outdoor and indoor, frequent exposure to dust, loud noise, greases and oils

Current Driver’s License – free of suspension and restrictions.
