Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and three (3) years of experience in the area or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Experience with capital assets or fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, adjustments, and disposals.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze financial data, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and other data analysis functions.
• Experience applying GAAP and GASB standards and company policies to financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes financial transactions to ensure proper accounting and reporting of assets and transactions.
• Maintains capital asset records, performs reconciliations of capital assets and related general ledger accounts.
• Prepares and posts journal entries; analyzes financial data and resolves discrepancies.
• Assists with biennial physical inventory of capital assets and coordinates with departments to resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Ensures compliance with GAAP, GASB, and internal controls; supports audits and policy interpretations.
