Job summary

Barry Callebaut Group is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee capital projects from conception through completion at a US site. You will manage detailed designs, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, quality, and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering design and/or project management in manufacturing or process industries; food industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in 2D CAD tools and working knowledge of 3D CAD software.
• Experience using MS Office Suite, SAP, and engineering or project management tools; experience with AutoCAD and CMMS (e.g., Maximo) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of engineering and CAPEX projects.
• Lead and develop detailed engineering designs, including diagrams, calculations, specs, process flows, P&IDs, and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations.
• Act as Construction Manager for assigned projects, including equipment selection and contractor coordination.
• Manage CAPEX projects typically USD 1M–2M, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule control.
• Develop and maintain project documentation (drawings, manuals, reports, files).
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and track deliverables to ensure timely execution.
• Implement food safety, quality, and SHE requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation actions for safe execution.
• Monitor progress, milestones, and provide status updates to Engineering Manager.
• Troubleshoot technical and execution issues during project implementation.
