Job summary

Global Power Components in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Financial Analyst – Capital Planning to support CAPEX budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and fixed asset accounting. You will work with Operations, Facilities, Purchasing, and Accounting to track capital projects and ensure capitalization of assets placed into service.

This role emphasizes collaboration, strong analytics, and improving financial controls, with responsibilities spanning project tracking, month-end close, and capital project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, project accounting, or fixed asset accounting.
• Experience with financial analysis, account reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, or forecasting.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or other capital-intensive environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with department leaders to develop and maintain CAPEX budgets, forecasts, and long-range capital plans.
• Support the CAPEX workflow and review requests for compliance with capitalization policies.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Facilities, Operations, and Accounting to monitor project progress and forecasts.
• Identify and communicate budget, cost, and timing issues to project owners and Finance leadership.
• Prepare CAPEX spending and budget variance reporting for monthly leadership decks.
• Reconcile construction-in-progress balances to schedules and the general ledger.
• Coordinate financial closeout of completed capital projects and capitalization.
• Prepare and record monthly journal entries for asset additions, transfers, and depreciation.
• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and project files.
• Reconcile fixed asset subledger toGL and resolve discrepancies.
• Support fixed asset inventories and asset verification activities.
• Assist project sponsors with ROI, payback, cash flow, and sensitivity analysis.
• Support post-completion reviews and month-end/year-end close activities.
• Maintain CAPEX procedures and internal controls; identify process improvements.
