Job summary

Camden Development, Inc. is seeking an accounting professional to manage capital expenditures and assist with construction draws and reporting. The role focuses on ensuring proper capitalization under Camden policies and contributing to the financial close.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate fixed asset records, depreciation analysis, and timely project reporting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least one year of accounting experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Accounting systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Review capital expenditure invoices for proper accounting treatment under Camden capitalization policy.
• Assist in processing construction draws to facilitate payments to vendors.
• Prepare general ledger entries for month-end close (accruals, reclassifications).
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities including reconciliations and analyses.
• Reconcile fixed asset subledger balances to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
• Analyze depreciation trends and maintain fixed asset records accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve capital-related accounting issues.
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Project Management and other teams on capitalization."
• Utilize Oracle ERP to manage fixed asset and capex accounting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Assist Senior with project entries and project reports.
