Valmont Industries, Inc. seeks a Commodity Manager – CapEx to drive strategic sourcing for capital expenditures and manage supplier relationships across global and regional teams.

This role focuses on cost reduction, supplier innovation, and risk mitigation while coordinating with Operations, Engineering, and Project Management to build a robust project funnel. The position involves reviewing the supply base, contracting site services and equipment, and ensuring alignment with internal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years relevant experience or associate’s degree with 8+ years relevant experience or 10+ years of relevant experience
• Progressive experience in commodity management/supply chain management, operations, and/or engineering
• Indirect manufacturing, tooling design, product design and application experience
• Experience developing and implementing category strategies within CapEx, indirect procurement, construction, equipment, or industrial service categories
• Proven track record of supplier development, management, and sustained productivity
• Strong analytical and negotiating skills
• Self-starter, ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to develop and recommend material and process alternatives while working with Engineering and Project Management teams
• Project management skills to develop plans, steps, and timetables and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Manage CapEx projects – equipment, services, and construction
• Implement and assist with compliance of long-term strategies for suppliers, equipment, and maintenance
• Manage supplier relationships to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and terms
• Negotiate with suppliers to establish competitive contracts
• Perform supply-based market analysis – commodities and suppliers
• Monthly scorecard and annual strategic plan reporting
• Organize contracts, pricing, and compliance documentation
• Support supplier lean development activities
• Contribute to continuous improvement and risk mitigation
