Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics seeks a Capacity Planning Supervisor to lead the Capacity Planning Specialists, ensuring every shipment has a qualified carrier in time to meet pickup windows. You will own carrier assignments, cost discipline, and performance management to deliver secure, on‑time service.

You will mentor planners, optimize capacity ahead of demand, and collaborate with operations to sustain continuous improvement across lanes in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field.
• 5–7 years of carrier procurement, trucking brokerage, dispatch or capacity management (1–3 years leading a team).
• Hands-on experience with a brokerage or transportation management system; Descartes Aljex preferred.
• Working knowledge of US domestic ground freight modes and equipment types.
• Data literacy to build a cost and coverage narrative and defend it to program leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the open shipments board across the shift and ensure coverage before pickup window.
• Manage carrier performance and rate discipline to protect margins on every file.
• Oversee appointment creation, dispatch governance, and MacroPoint/tracking compliance.
• Lead Capacity Planning Specialists and onboard new planners with Aljex and HVHR procedures.
• Forecast demand by lane, report capacity KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.
