Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics seeks a Capacity Planning Supervisor, Ground, to lead the Capacity Planning Specialists team and ensure every shipment has a qualified carrier in time for pickup windows. You will own carrier assignment, cost control, and escalation processes, while mentoring planners, building proactive capacity ahead of demand, and driving continuous improvement across lanes and regions.

This role requires 5–7 years in carrier procurement or capacity management and strong TM systems

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in carrier procurement, brokerage, dispatch, or capacity management.
• 1–3 years leading or supervising a team.
• Hands-on experience with logistics software; Descartes Aljex preferred.
• Working knowledge of US domestic freight modes and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the open shipments board and ensure coverage before pickup.
• Ensure on-time pickup/delivery and track performance against targets.
• Audit final carrier charges and protect margins across files.
• Lead onboarding and development of Capacity Planning Specialists.
• Forecast demand, plan capacity, and report KPIs by lane and carrier.
