Job summary

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians in Palm Springs, CA, is hiring for a full-time canyon and tribal land maintenance position. The role focuses on maintaining Tahquitz and Indian Canyons, Tribal Cemetery, trails, signage, and related facilities while safeguarding hikers and staff.

You will read topographic maps, use GPS, operate maintenance equipment, and assist in search-and-rescue operations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using basic maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to read topographic maps and aerial photos.
• Ability to use GPS.
• Must be physically fit and pass a medical exam.
• Must maintain Class B license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Indian and tribal canyon properties and related facilities.
• Ensure safety of workers, hikers, and guests in the canyons.
• Enforce tribal regulations and ordinances for canyon areas.
• Assist in search & rescue operations as needed.
• Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS as directed.
• Maintain trails, signage, parking areas, and equipment.
