Job summary

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health is seeking a CANS Assessment Associate to conduct comprehensive assessments for children and youth, coordinating with families and partners to identify needs and appropriate levels of care. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, HIPAA compliance, and timely access to services in southeast Ohio.

Applicants should have 2–3 years of relevant experience, Ohio CANS certification (or ability to certify within 21 days), and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in community mental health or related field.
• Ability to conduct CANS assessments for youth birth-21.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and compliant documentation.
• Willingness to travel within designated service areas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive CANS assessments for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth in virtual, home, school, and community settings.
• Coordinate with families, providers, and community partners to identify needs and next steps.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and CANS portal.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state requirements.
• Build collaborative relationships with referral systems and care teams.
• Travel within designated service areas.
