Job summary

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health in Southeast Ohio seeks a CANS Assessment Associate to conduct comprehensive assessments for children, adolescents, and transitional‑age youth, coordinating with families, providers, and community partners to connect youth to appropriate services and programs.

The role requires 2–3 years in community mental health, Ohio CANS certification (or ability to certify within 21 days), a high school diploma, strong communication and organizational skills, and

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in community mental health, child welfare, or a closely related human services setting is required
• Ohio CANS certification or ability to certify within the first 21 days of employment
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive CANS assessments for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth in virtual, home, school, and community settings
• Build and maintain knowledge of OhioRISE referral pathways and program offerings including waivers and QRTP requests
• Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record and CANS portal per state and agency requirements
• Collaborate with clinical staff, families, and community partners to translate assessment findings and next steps
• Develop and maintain relationships with referral systems and collateral agents involved in CANS/OhioRISE care
• Use databases and the EHR system for accurate client documentation
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional ethical guidelines
• Travel within designated service areas
• All other duties as assigned
