Job Description Summary

Using hand tools and test equipment, the individual will perform maintenance on electronic and mechanical equipment, such as industrial controls, computers, and servo-mechanisms, following blueprints and manufacturer’s specifications. Duties are within cGMPs for Medical Devices, maintaining change control, notifying QA/RA and engineering where necessary, and making adjustments only within documented and validated limits. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and all safety regulations. Regular, punctual attendance is essential. Ability to read, write, and converse in English is required. Must uphold BD Values.

Shift Details

2nd Shift: 4:00 pm - Midnight, with a 13.5% shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnose, and repair equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance.
• Maintain parts inventory.
• Support engineering projects, including equipment installation and IQ testing.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Test electronic circuits and understand control systems.
• Install, modify, and understand control panel wiring; work with PLC programs.
• Train operators and assist with machine setup.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and repair pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Propose and review design changes to upgrade equipment and improve quality.
• Occasionally work off-shift for troubleshooting and repairs; flexible with overtime.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in a technical field preferred; or two years of technical experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Basic computer skills (SAP, Excel, Word).
• Accurate record-keeping skills.
