Job summary

Verano Holdings is seeking a Lab Manager to oversee a team in daily analysis, extraction, and formulation of cannabis recipes, extracts, and samples in our Pennsylvania location. Responsibilities include overseeing extraction and refinement processes, delegating benchwork, coordinating schedules, and maintaining high-purity standards in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or similar field required.
• 2+ years of management/supervisory experience in a regulated field that adheres to health and safety policies and procedures required.
• Expert in use of HPLC, Gas Chromatography
• Strong mathematical and technical abilities
• Must be 21 years of age or older and able to register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.
• Must comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all processes in extraction and refinement of cannabis.
• Benchwork delegation and prioritization: Filtration, Activation, Rotovape, etc.
• Research and development – record data, refine products, and improve processes.
• Ensure QA/QC methods are being followed.
• Review lab supply inventory and submit order requests.
• Coordinate operations and schedules of personnel.
• Interview, hire, and train lab staff.
• Supervise the mixing of oils to ensure proper ratios are used.
• Review and verify calculations of Chemists and additional lab staff.
• Initiate, coordinate, and enforce operational policies and procedures.
• Create and deliver weekly reports on key performance metrics.
• Implement and maintain appropriate quality control processes and procedures.
