Job summary

Phat Panda in Worcester, MA is seeking a hands-on Lab Manager to run day-to-day cannabis extraction lab operations. You’ll report to the Laboratory Director, supervise the lab crew, and own production scheduling, quality testing, and compliance.

You will maintain equipment logs, monitor consumables, and ensure training and safety procedures are followed. This role demands strong communication and cross-team coordination in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of admin or operations experience.
• Advanced MS Word and Excel; labeling equipment.
• Clear, professional communication.
• Accurate, on-time work (95%+ accuracy).
• Strong numerical and math skills.
• Ability to explain reasoning and make timely decisions.
• Adaptable to changing priorities.
• Proactive problem solving.
• Comfort with unit conversions.

Responsibilities

• Drive weekly production plan; ensure runs completed on time.
• Optimize workflows for efficiency and quality.
• Maintain equipment logs per manuals.
• Monitor inventory of lab consumables.
• Understand equipment and methods behind products.
• Champion safety-focused culture and procedures.
• Contribute to R&D projects as assigned.
• Supervise and train lab crew.
• Assist HR with hiring and onboarding.
• Coordinate payroll and purchasing tasks.
• Schedule inbound/outbound materials and deliveries.
• Collaborate with drivers, Security, and Biomass teams.
