Savvyherb in Canton, Ohio, is seeking a full-time Extraction Lead with BHO experience to guide Extraction Specialists and manage extraction operations in our cannabis cultivation facility. The role focuses on overseeing the extraction process, ensuring safety and product quality, and coordinating with other departments to meet production needs.

The candidate will train staff, calibrate equipment, handle biomass, and maintain inventory and waste procedures while complying with state regulations.

Qualifications

• Operate and maintain hydrocarbon extraction systems (BHO) to safely extract cannabinoids and terpenes from cannabis biomass in compliance with safety standards.
• Previous experience in a commercial cannabis extraction lab.
• Able to follow detailed instruction and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must work well in a teamwork environment.
• Willing to learn to operate and maintain facility equipment safely.
• Able to handle hazardous materials safely.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to register with state cannabis commission as an agent.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to incoming and current extraction specialists and share best practices.
• Help extraction staff understand and follow departmental processes.
• Aid training of new hires by Extraction Manager.
• Visually inspect equipment and assist with calibrations.
• Prepare equipment, biomass, and materials for extraction.
• Move extracts to storage and verify batch numbers.
• Execute extractions and post-extraction processes.
• Operate extraction equipment (rotary evaporators, reactors, filtration).
• Ensure product quality through QC testing and procedures.
• Maintain inventory records for materials, waste, and equipment.
• Dispose lab waste and maintain MSDS for chemicals.
• Follow safety protocols and SOPs; maintain clean work environment.
• Inform management of equipment discrepancies promptly.
