Job summary

K9s Place in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Canine Care Technician to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time/part-time role that involves caring for boarding and daycare dogs, cleaning kennels, feeding, supervising playgroups, and ensuring the safety and well-being of every dog in our care.

The ideal candidate is physically capable, reliable, and comfortable working in Florida heat or rain. Must be 18+, have reliable transportation, be willing to work weekends and holidays, and be able to lift

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Reliable transportation
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Indoor/outdoor work in all weather
• Able to stand, walk, and move during shift
• Previous animal care experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect kennels and play yards
• Feed, water, and care for boarding and daycare dogs
• Supervise daycare playgroups
• Safely handle dogs of all breeds and sizes
• Monitor dogs for health or behavior changes
• Assist with laundry, dishes, cleaning and facility upkeep
• Collaborate with team to keep the facility running smoothly

K9s Place is looking for dependable, motivated individuals to join our Canine Care Team. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position that requires excellent time management, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to the health and safety of every dog in our care.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect kennels and play yards
• Feed, water, and care for boarding and daycare dogs
• Supervise daycare playgroups
• Safely handle dogs of all breeds and sizes
• Monitor dogs for changes in health or behavior
• Laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping, and general facility cleaning
• Work efficiently with your team to keep the facility running smoothly

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Reliable transportation
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and move throughout your shift
• Previous animal care experience is a plus but not required
