Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Cancer Registry Abstractor who will report to the Oncology Data Management Manager. You will abstract information from medical records of patients with cancer diagnoses and enter it into the IMPAC system to support annual reports and research.

The role requires CTR certification, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to work with multiple data sources. Work is performed in a clinical environment at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

Qualifications

• CTR certification is required for the role.
• Strong analytical abilities and data abstraction experience.
• Experience with cancer registry data and regulatory standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts information from medical records for cancer registry.
• Maintains and queries IMPAC database and generates reports.
• Reviews records for accuracy and assigns disease codes per standards.
• Communicates with institutions for additional information as needed.
