Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in health information management, Cancer Registry Management, or related healthcare field (or equivalent).
• CTR credential in good standing (NCRA) required.
• 0–6 months of experience in a hospital-based cancer registry environment.

Responsibilities

• Runs monthly follow-up reports and Lost to Follow-Up reports.
• Performs comprehensive case finding for reportable malignancies.
• Reviews pathology, radiology, and treatment data for OncoLog abstraction.
• Maintains registry records with precision, timeliness, and compliance.
• Collaborates with physicians and oncology teams to clarify clinical information.
• Performs routine quality checks, audits, and follow-up to resolve discrepancies.
• Supports tumor board prep, accreditation surveys, and outcomes reporting.
• Works with the UMMS Cancer Registry Network.
• Keeps up-to-date with oncology coding guidelines and registry best practices.
• Abstracts and codes cancer cases per CoC, SEER, NCDB, MCR standards.
