We are looking to hire a Cancer Registrar who will work independently managing the cancer registry, accreditation activities, patient care evaluations, quality improvement, cancer conferences, annual reports, and community and professional education programs. The role involves ongoing communication with the Iowa State Health Registry to maintain data standards based on the SEER program of the NCI.

Qualifications

• Education: 2-year college program in Cancer Registry Management (CRIM) or Cancer Information Management (CIM) from an NCRA-accredited program
• Special Training: Word processing (minimum 60 wpm), spreadsheet applications, medical terminology
• Licensure/Registration: CTR Certification within 24 months
• Experience: No prior experience required
• Interpersonal Skills: Moderate difficulty interactions with internal and external stakeholders, involving detailed dialogues and problem-solving
• Physical Demands: Light physical activity, primarily sitting and intermittent walking, minimal physical strain
• Working Conditions: Minimal environmental hazards, no blood-borne pathogen exposure
