Job summary

Duncan Regional Hospital’s McCasland Cancer Center of SW OK in Duncan, OK is seeking a Lab Assistant. The role encompasses venipuncture, specimen processing, and rigorous tracking to support chemistry, hematology, immunology, and urinalysis workflows.

The position requires adherence to CLIA/COLA/JC standards, accurate data entry, and knowledge of test/sample requirements across pediatric to geriatric specimens. A high school diploma and certification are preferred, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current national phlebotomy certification preferred.
• 3rd year undergraduate student in a laboratory major preferred.
• 2 years of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process laboratory specimens and report results across chemistry, immunology, hematology, and urinalysis.
• Monitor QC, perform calibrations, and ensure quality control daily/weekly/monthly.
• Order and track tumor profiling and biomarker analysis as requested.
• Maintain logs, follow QA procedures, and resolve discrepancies with leadership.
• Calibrate equipment, troubleshoot instruments, and manage inventory of reagents.
• Comply with safety, infection control, and DRH policies at all times.
