Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of clerical experience in a physician's office preferred.
• Familiarity with medical office systems and scheduling applications preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient appointments: Schedule physician visits, diagnostic testing, and surgical procedures by phone and in person.
• Manage surgical scheduling: Coordinate complex surgical cases, including procedures requiring collaboration between surgical and plastic surgery teams.
• Collaborate across departments: Work closely with Nurse Navigation, Genetics, Oncology, Surgery Scheduling, Plastic Surgery, Radiology, and other healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate records: Update patient medical records and scan documentation into OnBase.
• Coordinate insurance authorizations: Obtain the necessary authorizations from insurance companies for scheduled services and procedures.
• Support daily operations: Perform general office duties and help keep the department organized and running efficiently.
• Communicate effectively: Ensure clear, timely communication with patients, providers, and team members to support coordinated care.
