Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a Student Health and Wellness Ambassador to welcome Wellness Center members, promote health initiatives, and deliver exceptional customer service across MUSC activities.

Applicants must be active MUSC students and submit via a personal email. You will greet guests at the desk, assist with tours and member questions, process guest passes and memberships, and help maintain a clean, welcoming lobby while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be actively enrolled as MUSC students.
• Applicants are required to submit their application using a personal (non-MUSC) email address.

Responsibilities

• Greet members at the Member Services Desk with a strong commitment to improving the health and well-being of members and guests (25%).
• Help create a culture of wellness by role modeling healthy behaviors, providing excellent customer service, and conducting tours for guests and prospective members (15%).
• Process point-of-sale credit card transactions, including the sale of guest passes and memberships, and input transactions into the membership management system (10%).
• Answer member questions and provide assistance to participants in the cardio, weight room, and other fitness areas (10%).
• Uphold safety and cleaning policies, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment (10%).
• Manage the lobby area to ensure it is clean, organized, and welcoming; contact housekeeping as needed (10%).
• Perform opening and closing operational procedures as assigned (5%).
• Offer new member equipment instruction and orientation (5%).
• Serve as a Program Assistant as needed and complete all required training (5%).
• Perform other duties as assigned (5%).
