Job summary

University of Utah is seeking a Vehicle Operator III – Moving Services to perform and lead a range of moving projects across campus. You will relocate office furniture, lab equipment, and heavy items, operating CDL vehicles and material-handling equipment to support operations.

The role requires 3+ years of related experience, a CDL Class B with endorsements is preferred, and you may be assigned snow removal and on-call responsibilities to support essential campus operations.

Qualifications

• CDL (Class B) with air brake and tanker endorsements preferred.
• Current DOT Medical Card preferred.
• Professional moving experience preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment (loaders, forklifts, telehandlers).
• Equivalency statement allowing education to substitute for work experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform campus-wide moving services for faculty, staff, students and related operations.
• Move and relocate office furniture, lab equipment and specialty items using proper techniques.
• Operate commercial vehicles and material-handling equipment to transport items across campus.
• Load/unload and secure items, review work orders, and schedule moves.
• Provide customer service, train/guide junior staff, and assist with snow removal when needed.
