Job summary

North Central Missouri College seeks a student tutor to support the Savannah Resource Center. You will facilitate one-to-one and small-group tutoring, both in person and online, and help students set short- and long-term academic goals.

The role emphasizes guiding learning and referring students when needed. You will coordinate with the Tutoring Center Coordinator, participate in tutor trainings, and contribute to a supportive, student-centered environment that fosters effective study practices

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the tutoring subject.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to student needs.

Responsibilities

• Attend tutor training workshops.
• Conduct small-group and/or one-to-one tutoring.
• Help students develop study habits and study skills.
• Assist with projects and prep for quizzes and tests.
• Explain concepts and ask questions to encourage independent thinking.
• Encourage students to complete homework assignments.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Maintain contact with the Tutoring Center Coordinator.
