Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District 210 is seeking a Student Prevention/Intervention Specialist at Camelback High School to lead campus intervention efforts and coordinate student support services.

The role involves facilitating intervention teams, coordinating student groups, communicating with families and partners, and maintaining data and records to support student success within the nine-month work year.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and licensure preferred
• Education/training in prevention and intervention best practices
• Experience as a support group facilitator
• Knowledge of strategies to help students succeed
• Experience in training staff and presenting workshops
• Experience working with youth or families in crisis
• Knowledge of dropout intervention best practices
• Knowledge of community resources and referrals
• Knowledge of adolescent development
• Computer applications for tracking program activities

Responsibilities

• Devote the majority of time to academic, social/personal and behavioral interventions with students
• Facilitate/intervene on campus teams (threat management, intervention, crisis response, discipline, support services)
• Coordinate operation of student support groups and co-facilitation
• Communicate with parents, staff and community resources to enhance student success
• Schedule and conduct intervention conferences with parents, teachers, counselors and outside agencies
• Maintain communication with staff regarding interventions in compliance with laws and policies
• Maintain and report accurate records for students referred to interventions
• Collaborate with the Community Liaison and community organizations to obtain volunteers
• Work with District Administration to ensure compliance with policies and statutes
• Provide program materials, activities and training for staff and students
• Carry out responsibilities per Dropout Prevention Plan or State statutes
