Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District 210 is seeking a Safety Assistant to maintain a safe learning environment on assigned school campuses. You will monitor activities, enforce rules, and support campus safety operations to protect students and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid AZ driver's license, and CPR/First Aid certificates or ability to obtain within 60 days. Prior security experience preferred and a commitment to confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND some previous security experience preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License required. Must have or obtain within 60 days of employment CPR and first aid certificates; IIDP Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain within 90 workdays.
• Ideal candidates will have skills in mediation, safety policy enforcement, conflict resolution, and the ability to communicate clearly with staff, students, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Monitors campus activities and events; upholds campus and district rules.
• Monitors access and ensures only authorized individuals are on campus; escorts disruptive students as needed.
• Interacts with staff and students to foster a safe campus climate; de-escalates conflicts.
• Reports campus activities to dispatch and supervisors; supports safety teams as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to district policies and procedures.
