Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Temporary Campus Store Team Member to deliver an exceptional retail experience. You will greet customers, assist with locating materials, operate the POS, and keep the store organized and ready for daily business.

This role supports inventory and daily operations while maintaining a customer-focused environment and collaborating with store leaders and teammates. Temporary assignments offer varied weekly hours and may last up to 90 days based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
• Strong customer-focused attitude and ability to build relationships with customers and teammates.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Help customers locate course materials, school supplies, apparel, gifts, and other items.
• Operate the point-of-sale system including cash, credit, and financial aid purchases.
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked through merchandising and replenishment.
• Assist with inventory, receiving merchandise, and other daily store operations.
• Develop product knowledge about merchandise, promotions, and store services.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet daily priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment reflecting the Barnes & Noble College brand.
