Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College is hiring a part-time Campus Store Associate to support daily operations, customer service, and POS transactions. You will assist with stocking, merchandising, and event-related store activities while ensuring an inviting retail environment for students and staff.

The role requires at least two years in retail or campus store settings, strong communication, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of retail, customer service, campus store, or related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Experience working with point-of-sale systems, cash handling, or retail transactions.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise, train, and provide direction to student and part-time employees.
• Flexible part-time schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Campus Store Manager with daily operations.
• Open/close the store and ensure cash-handling and security procedures are followed.
• Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Assist customers with purchases, returns, exchanges, product questions, and general Campus Store needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized retail environment.
• Identify operational issues and communicate concerns to the Manager.
• Serve as operational support and provide day-to-day leadership when the Manager is unavailable.
• Passionate about working with children.
• Assist with staff training and supervision.
• Support POS processes, scheduling, and daily responsibilities.
• Monitor attendance and performance; communicate concerns to the Manager.
