Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old (California locations: 18).
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Flexible schedule during temporary assignment based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Help customers locate course materials, school supplies, apparel, gifts, and other merchandise.
• Operate the point-of-sale system for transactions (cash, credit, and financial aid).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor through merchandising and replenishment.
• Assist with inventory, receiving merchandise, order fulfillment, and other tasks to keep the store customer-ready.
• Develop product knowledge about merchandise and store services to assist customers.
• Work with teammates to achieve daily priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Contribute to a clean, safe store reflecting the Barnes & Noble College brand.
