Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Temporary Campus Store Team Member to deliver an exceptional retail experience while supporting daily store operations at our campus location in New Jersey. You will greet customers, assist with course materials and merchandise, and process transactions with accuracy.

Responsibilities include maintaining an organized sales floor, stocking products, and collaborating with teammates to meet daily priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule throughout the temporary assignment based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to deliver an exceptional experience.
• Assist customers in locating materials and merchandise to meet their needs.
• Operate the point-of-sale system for transactions, including cash, credit, and financial aid purchases.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked sales floor through merchandising and recovery.
• Support daily store operations with inventory, receiving, and order fulfillment tasks.
• Develop product knowledge to confidently assist customers with promotions and materials.
• Collaborate with teammates to achieve daily priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Contribute to a clean and safe store that reflects the Barnes & Noble College brand.
