University of Vermont seeks a Davis Center Facilities Manager to lead all aspects of facilities operations for the Davis Center, coordinating with campus partners and external contractors to maintain safety and service quality.
The role directs daily facilities functions, oversees maintenance and renovation projects, manages budgets, and supports emergency preparedness while supervising staff and aligning with university priorities.
Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for facilities of the Dudley H. Davis Center, a 200,000 square foot student union and conference center. Coordinate services with various campus partners including Physical Plant, Grounds, Facilities Design & Construction, and Custodial Services, as well as external contractors. Oversee daily facilities functions. Recommend and oversee building maintenance, repairs, and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with UVM and Davis Center standards and safety measures. Assist with developing facilities budgets and monitor expenditures. Manage building furniture and equipment, and coordinate purchasing, repair, and disposal. Coordinate with the Business Manager and Associate Director to create short term and long-term plans for equipment replacement and building renewal. Oversee building tenant relationships, addressing needs and space concerns. Participate in developing, maintaining, and communicating emergency preparedness plans and policies. Supervise facilities staff. Operate with a high degree of independence in managing daily facility needs while supporting strategic priorities established by departmental leadership.
Associate's degree and five years related work experience including demonstrated experience in facility management, student unions, or hospitality management. Experience with construction projects. Demonstrated supervisory experience. Basic computing skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain a driver's license required.
Knowledge/experience with construction/ renovation. Familiarity with collective bargaining. Understanding of room scheduling software. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite.
$60,000 - $65,000
A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Background Check required for this position
