Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education in Fayetteville, AR is seeking a Salaried Sous Chef to support the University of Arkansas dining operations. You will supervise and participate in food preparation, menu development, and daily kitchen activities, partnering with the Executive Chef to deliver high-quality meals for students and staff.

This role emphasizes cost controls, catering event execution, and program launches with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

A.S. or equivalent experience required.
Culinary/kitchen management experience preferred.
Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations.
Familiarity with food cost controls, sanitation, and presentation.
Must be experienced with computers.

Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Chef and culinary team with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account.
Assist the Executive Chef and culinary team with planning and creating menus.
Produce and execute catering events.
Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.
Foster strong client relationships to align our programs with their objectives, driving satisfaction and retention.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of dining service operations.
