Job summary

The University of North Dakota seeks a Software Engineer to deliver outstanding IT support and to design, develop, and maintain campus applications and websites, incorporating user requirements and database design.

You will build web solutions with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Laravel or Symfony, and Angular; write SQL queries; manage APIs; perform maintenance; and ensure security and scalability for university needs on the Grand Forks campus, onsite, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR an Associate’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
• Demonstrable experience with SQL query development and relational database software such as MySQL or SQL Server
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows servers
• Experience with a variety of data formats and API Protocols such as JSON, XML, CSV, and REST/SOAP
• Proficiency in a high-level programming language
• Experience with client/server architecture
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Responsibilities

• Web/application development: design, code, and test solutions using PHP, JS, HTML, CSS.
• Build data-driven applications using Laravel or Symfony; create reusable components with Angular.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for applications; perform code reviews and ensure QA/testing.
• Develop functionality for dynamic content, forms, data collection, reporting, payments, and CMS features.
• Use GitLab for source control and UIT ticket tracking; ensure secure deployment and documentation.
