Job summary

Auburn University Transit Services is hiring a Transit Services Assistant to support day-to-day oversight and operations of Auburn University's transportation services, ensuring adherence to university and contract provisions. Candidates must upload a cover letter with the application.

Responsibilities include daily vendor activity oversight, data collection, phone answering, dispatching, and supervising shuttle and golf cart operations, along with assisting in training and special events.

Qualifications

• Level I requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Level II requires 2 years of experience in transportation services or customer service OR an Associate's degree OR a Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist transit management with oversight of daily activities related to the transit services vendor.
• Assist the transit vendor with routine daily operational activities.
• Collect and enter data related to the vendor's performance.
• Answer phones and dispatch vans for the University Shuttle Service, Contractor Shuttle and By Request Service.
• Safely operate state-owned University vehicles while transporting passengers.
• Supervise jAUnt Mobility Golf Cart Service (6–8 carts).
• Assist with accident investigations as needed.
• Assist with training of new employees for office and driving techniques.
• Supervise special events and charters including Game Days.
• Provide customer service and information to vendor and customers, resolving issues.
• Distribute transit-related materials to campus locations.
• Serve as liaison between transit vendor, customers, and Transportation Services to improve operations.
