Description

The Facilities Management department of Facilities & Services is seeking applicants for a Campus Service Worker Lead position.

About the Opportunity

As a Campus Service Worker Lead, you will provide a variety of support services to maintain the interior appearance of institutional buildings and the surrounding exterior grounds. This involves following established procedures, techniques, safety requirements, and using some judgment to interpret instructions. You will assign and direct work based on operational needs.

The Division of Facilities and Services includes units dedicated to maintaining, protecting, and improving the University's buildings and grounds, ensuring safety and satisfaction for employees, students, and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain the interior of buildings, including floors, carpets, furniture, walls, ceilings, doors, and windows.
  • Maintain exterior building appearances, including debris removal, gutter cleaning, snow and ice removal, graffiti cleaning.
  • Operate cleaning machinery and tools.
  • Mix and dilute cleaning solutions properly.
  • Relocate furniture and assist with event setups.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks like trash collection, supply replenishment, and responding to requests.
  • Assist in supervising and training campus service workers.
  • Stay current on safety requirements and participate in training.

This position requires working various shifts, including evenings and weekends, with scheduling subject to change.

Work Hours: Sunday through Thursday, 7 PM - 3 AM

Pay Grade: 10. WVU offers competitive wages considering experience and education.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of experience in commercial cleaning procedures and operating custodial equipment.
  • Experience in training others and leadership preferred.
Requirements
  • Physical coordination and demands including standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
