Job summary

Columbia Basin College seeks to maintain a pool of applicants for Temporary Hourly (Security) positions to meet short-term and intermittent workload needs. Positions are temporary, at-will, non-student staff with no guaranteed continued employment.

Pay range is $22 per hour. Duties include patrolling, securing facilities, directing traffic, and assisting law enforcement as needed. Applications are reviewed as needs arise, with a pool remaining through early 2027.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus grounds on foot, in a patrol car or other vehicle to monitor safety and enforce college rules.
• Inspect buildings and grounds to ensure security and address emergencies or irregularities.
• Direct and regulate traffic; investigate incidents; administer first aid as needed; issue citations; gather evidence; appear in court as required.
• Operate security communications equipment; respond to inquiries; receive reports; dispatch units; monitor alarms; prepare and distribute reports.
• Assist police and state patrol in emergencies.
• Perform related duties as required.
