Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point is seeking a Student Security Officer to perform foot, bike and motorized patrols of campus buildings, sidewalks, and parking areas, and to secure facilities at designated times. You will support University Police and other Security Officers and assist with traffic control and security for events.

Qualifications

• Must be a fulltime UWSP student in good academic standing
• Ability to read, write, and speak in an understandable, accurate and positive manner
• Must be in good health able to perform vigorous activities (walking long distances, running, self defense)
• Ability to listen and follow supervisory directions
• Possess initiative and the ability to work independently with little supervision
• Must be able to work different shift periods including nights and weekends
• Must be in good legal standing (no outstanding citations, no criminal record)
• Ability to enforce parking rules and regulations impartially
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
• Wage: $13/hr

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings, sidewalks and parking lots by foot, bike, and motorized means
• Secure campus buildings at designated times and complete ProGuard routes
• Assist University Police and Security Officers during emergencies
• Provide security, traffic control, and parking enforcement for events and special tasks
• Complete incident reports and other written documents as required
