Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a College Campus, Part Time Patrol Checks, in New York, NY. You will patrol campuses, maintain a visible presence, and deliver excellent customer service while following site policies and procedures.

The role emphasizes safety, responsiveness to incidents, and professional communication with students, staff, and visitors. Schedule includes overnight shifts; pay is $20.40-$21.40 per hour for a part-time position.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout assigned areas, and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain required activity logs while communicating professionally with the campus community.
