Job summary

St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School in West Islip, NY is seeking a Lead Security Guard to oversee day-to-day security operations and help maintain a safe campus.

Qualifications

• Experience in law enforcement or security leadership preferred.
• Supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a school, educational, public safety, or community environment preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, professional, and decisive under emergencies or high-pressure situations.
• Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and emergency personnel.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
• Ability to complete background checks and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day campus security operations and lead security personnel.
• Coordinate daily assignments, coverage, and responsibilities of guards.
• Monitor security throughout the school day and during events.
• Assist with training, mentoring, and onboarding of security staff.
• Serve as a point of contact for security operations and concerns.
• Communicate significant security issues to school administration promptly.
• Collaborate with administration, faculty, staff, students, parents, and emergency services.
• Maintain a visible, professional security presence on campus.
