Job summary

Heathwood Hall Episcopal School seeks a Safety & Security Manager to lead campus safety, emergency preparedness, and contracted security for its 26 buildings and 122-acre campus. You will coordinate prevention, response, continuity, and recovery with Defender and school leaders, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.

The role requires calm crisis leadership, cross-functional coordination, and strong documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in security management, emergency management, criminal justice, public administration, education, or related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in school safety, campus security, emergency management, or related environment.
• Experience with all-hazards emergency planning, incident command, drills, and contractor oversight.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and improves the all-hazards Emergency Operations Plan including evacuation and lockdown procedures.
• Manages Defender contract, monitors coverage, training, performance, and invoicing.
• Coordinates access control governance with Maintenance, IT, HR and leadership.
• Leads safety inspections and training, records, and after-action reporting to CFOO and leaders.
