Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and Services in Maryville, TN is seeking a Security Guard to protect residents, staff and campus property. You will patrol buildings and grounds, respond to emergencies, monitor access and vehicle traffic, and prepare incident reports while coordinating with on-call responders as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, two years of security experience, a valid driver’s license, and basic first aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Two years experience in security or related work.
• Current state driver’s license (CDL preferred) and a good driving record.
• First aid certification and experience in emergency medical situations.
• Ability to read and write in English and communicate with residents and staff.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills with the elderly.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Good observational skills and flexibility to adapt to changing conditions.
• For California candidates, must maintain a valid California Security License.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency call system.
• Evaluate need to notify on-call personnel and follow procedures.
• In emergencies, call 911 and coordinate with responders.
• Check and secure security equipment and conduct patrols.
• Check exterior doors in all buildings.
• Challenge trespassers on campus property.
• Monitor vehicle traffic and enforce policies.
• Familiarize with campus locations, systems, and safety equipment.
• Reset HVAC and fire detector indicators as needed.
• Write and distribute reports for incidents.
• Report safety hazards and file maintenance requests.
