Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and Services is seeking a Security Guard to safeguard the campus, vehicles, residents, and staff. You will patrol, respond to emergencies, secure doors, monitor activity, and coordinate with on-call personnel as required.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least two years in security, a valid driver’s license, and first aid certification. English literacy, strong interpersonal skills, and adaptability are essential for serving elderly residents.

Qualifications

• High school education is required.
• Two years of experience in security or related work.
• Valid state driver's license and good driving record.
• First aid certification and experience in emergency medical situations.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills, with elderly residents in mind.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing conditions.
• For California candidates, must maintain a valid California Security License.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency call system.
• Evaluate need to notify on-call personnel per procedures.
• Call 911 in emergencies and coordinate with responders.
• Check and secure security equipment and patrol the campus.
• Secure exterior doors in all buildings.
• Challenge trespassers on campus property.
• Monitor vehicle traffic and uphold traffic policies.
• Familiarize self with campus locations, systems, and safety equipment.
• Understand HVAC and fire detector panels; reset procedures as needed.
• Prepare and distribute incident reports.
• Report safety hazards and create maintenance requests in WorxHub.
• Provide maintenance/housekeeping as directed in emergencies.
• Provide non-emergency residential services that do not conflict with security.
