Job summary

Indian Rocks Church is seeking a Safety and Security Officer to provide security and safety services for students, staff, and visitors. You will respond quickly to emergencies, monitor systems, and maintain incident logs while upholding a strong Christian lifestyle and active church involvement.

The role requires readiness for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a background in security or law enforcement preferred, valid license, and ability to meet local certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Prior Law Enforcement background preferred.
• Ability to attend Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Guardianship program.
• Must pass background screening.
• Physically and mentally prepared to respond to emergencies.
• Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate the needs of the church and school.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible security presence across the campus, ensuring safety of students, staff, and visitors at all times.
• Respond immediately to emergency situations (medical, fire alarms, and other critical incidents).
• Monitor security systems and conduct regular patrols.
• Maintain accurate logs of incidents and activities; ensure timely, complete reporting.
• Apply de-escalation techniques as needed; address situations tactfully and professionally.
• Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure campus environment.
• Collaborate with church and school leadership on safety planning and improvements.
• Identify and mitigate potential security risks on campus.
