Spanish River Church is seeking an Armed Security Officer to provide a safe and welcoming environment for staff, students, church members, counseling clients, volunteers, visitors and guests. The role requires responding to emergencies, assisting with investigations, and collaborating with church leadership and local law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Valid Florida Class "G" Statewide Firearm License.
• Valid Florida Class "D" Security Officer License (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to legally carry a firearm while on duty.
• Ability to successfully pass criminal background screening and drug screening.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Patrol church, school, counseling center, and parking areas on foot and by vehicle.
• Maintain a visible security presence during services, school hours, counseling appointments, events, and evenings.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and campus access.
• Assist in enforcing campus security procedures.
• Respond to emergencies, disturbances, alarms, medical incidents, and security events.
• Conduct building security checks including doors, windows, gates, and perimeter inspections.
• Assist with opening and securing buildings.
• Respond to emergencies with established protocols; coordinate with local law enforcement and other responders.
• Assist with lockdowns, evacuations, shelter-in-place procedures, and incident assessments.
• Document incidents and prepare accurate written reports.
